Dr. Jennifer ThompsonObstetrician/ GynecologistDr. Thompson is a native of northern Virginia. A biology major at the College of William and Mary, she attended medical school at the University of Virginia, completing her Doctor of Medicine in 1993. She left Virginia for four years to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, then returned to northern Virginia in 1997 to practice close to family and friends.
Dr. Thompson likes the varied aspects of the specialty and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients. She particularly enjoys the wonder of childbirth and performing laparoscopic surgery. She is trained in Da Vinci robotic surgery and has a passion for minimally invasive hysterectomies for women. Dr. Thompson is Board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has served as a past Chairman and Vice-Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loudoun Hospital and currently serves on the Ob/Gyn Quality Committee. She is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). She lives with her husband Steve and daughters Rachel and Chloe in Herndon, Virginia. Outside of work, her interests include travel, skiing, reading, birding, and serving as a Girl Scout troop leader. |
